Hon Emeka Ujam served as a Member of Nigeria’s House of Representatives from 2015-2019, representing Nkanu East/West Constituency in Enugu State. He sponsored several Bills including the Digital Rights Bill. Emeka previously served as Commissioner for Lands and Urban Development in Enugu State from 2011-2014, where he pioneered the evening incorporation of Information and Communications Technology (ICT) for effective land administration.

Prior to his return to Nigeria and public service Emeka was an accomplished professional in the United Kingdom. An IT expert, he was Lead Security Technical Architect with the UK Metropolitan Police, and before that served in similar senior technical roles in private sector companies including British Telecom (BT) and Cable and Wireless Communications, UK.

Emeka holds a PhD in Electronic Engineering with specialization in Biometrics and IT Security from the University of Kent at Canterbury, a M.Sc in IT Management from the same University, and a B.Eng. with Second Class Upper Honours from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka.
